Can an SLA battery be jumped with a jump starter?

A jump starter is meant for car batteries which are ok with high currents over shorts durations. The max charge current for SLA batteries banks around 25% of the capacity.  So a 100Ah battery should only have around 25A charger maximum. A jump starter will damage the battery.
