Does the PWD2C deplete batteries in unison?
By design the Nucleus Classic batteries, in a dual dock, are supposed to deplete in unison. If there is a significant state-of-charge difference between the two batteries, the load control board is supposed to draw from the battery of higher charge until they reach equilibrium. They should then deplete in unison until shutdown occurs.
Two related notes to this:
- This behavior explains why a system might be shutting down from overload when you wouldn’t expect it. If there is a 100% charge battery and one that is only 20%, the theoretical output limit of that dock should only be 120W, not 240W because the 20% battery is disabled.
- There should never be a battery charge disparity like this if both batteries are swapped at the same time. There is no reason to only swap one battery and not the other.
