Error codes for the B235 B265 1000w 2000w inverters

A complete list of error codes and possible fixes for the B235 and B265 inverters

E01 - Low battery voltage shutdown is imminent

  • Check battery status and recharge if necessary.
  • Check for loose connections and tighten if necessary.
  • The display screen and the alarm will turn off after 30 seconds

-Did you plug in last night?

-When was the last time the unit was working?

-What does the battery meter show?

*check age of battery, this can happen for old batteries

*check to see if battery was sitting idle for many months

*could be the inverter is failing to charge, try swapping with a known good battery. If error goes away, replace battery. If battery

E02 High battery voltage shutdown > 15.5 volts DC Inverting

  • Check for external charging sources, such as an over voltage alternator, and disconnect if necessary.
  • The unit will stop inverting

E03 AC output overload shutdown Inverting

  • Reduce the loads connected to the AC outlet of the unit.
  • The unit will stop inverting

-is this happening on battery power, when plugged into the wall or both?

-When was the last time the unit was working?

-What does the battery meter show?

-Did you plug in last night?

Try swapping out with known good battery. If error goes away, battery is bad. If error persists check connections. If connections are good, inverter is bad.

E04 Over-temperature shutdown Inverting

  • Reduce the loads connected to the AC outlet of the unit.
  • Check that the ventilation grille is not blocked. – MAIN CAUSE
  • Check for ambient temperature and move the unit to a cooler location whenever possible.
  • The unit will stop inverting

E05 Low battery voltage detected

  • Check battery status and recharge if necessary.
  • Check for proper DC cable sizing.
  • Check for loose connections and tighten (CHECK WASHER PLACEMENT) – MAIN CAUSE

*Treat as an E03 error

E06 AC output overload warning Inverting

  • Reduce the loads connected to the AC outlet of the unit.

*Treat as an E03 error

*Main cause is bad/old battery

E07 Over-temperature warning Inverting

  • Reduce the loads connected to the AC outlet of the unit.
  • Check that the ventilation grille is not blocked. – MAIN CAUSE
  • Check for ambient temperature and move the unit to a cooler location whenever possible

E10 High battery voltage (> 15.5 V) AC shore power

  • Check for external charging sources, such as an over voltage alternator, and disconnect if necessary.
  • Confirm that the external charging source is not the cause. The error may be caused by the internal battery charger system.
  • The unit will stop charging, but the error code will still show on the display screen and the alarm will remain on, and

*Check connections – if happens when plugged into the wall, check to make sure its not plugged into a surge protector that’s plugged into the wall

*Try removing the black wire for 20 minutes, reconnect. If issue persists a new inverter is needed.

E11 Over-temperature detected on the AC transfer relay AC shore power

  • Reduce the loads connected to the AC outlet of the unit.
  • Check that the ventilation grille is not blocked.
  • Check for ambient temperature and move the unit to a cooler location whenever possible.
  • AC power will continue to pass through to the AC outlets

*treat as an E-10

E12 Battery is bad or external DC load is connected to the battery. AC shore power

  • Check the battery bank. NOTE: The battery voltage did not rise above 5 volts DC after 1 minute or 10 volts DC after 15 minutes.
  • Check that the external DC load current consumption is below the charging current setting.

*Mainly a battery issue. Try known good battery, if problem goes away, replace battery. If problem persists with known good battery, replace inverter.

*Try removing the black wire for 20 minutes, reconnect. If issue persists a new inverter is needed.

To reset error codes E10 to E12:

  1. Remove the AC input. (unplug from wall)
  2. Turn the unit to Standby mode and then turn ON again using the Inverter Power button on the display panel.

Turning the Inverter Function ON and Standby mode The Inverter Power button on the display panel turns the B235’s Inverter function to ON and to Standby mode.

To operate, press the button and hold for one second. When shore power is NOT present and Inverter mode is ON:

The AC outlets will supply power to any attached appliances when the Inverter Power button is turned ON and • the AC outlets will not supply power to any attached appliances when the Inverter Power button is on Standby mode
