Inspect for bulging/cracks, corrosion, etc. Check datecode of battery If battery is still connected, confirm connections are correct and secure. Also confirm �washer rule� - washer is not sandwiched between connection. Measure resting voltage If voltage is above 12.4V, apply a load and measure voltage again If voltage maintains steady above 12V, continue loading to determine capacity If voltage drops below 12 rapidly, charge If voltage is below 12.4V, charge battery If voltage does not increase � FAIL If voltage increases, measure voltage under load
