Fan behavior of the B265 along with operating temperature.
Does the fan turn on/off?
Yes, per the manual on page 79, the fan may turn on/off during both charge and inverting modes. Do not be alarmed, the unit is performing normally. The fan is activated automatically. On page 86, the fan is activated by either high internal temperature or high AC output power.
Is the fan temperature controlled?
Page 9 of the manual states “Cooling fans turn on when the internal temperature reaches a set point temperature.”
What are the temperature/fan related error codes?
During inverter operation, when the Freedom XC’s internal temperature starts to approach its preset shutdown limit, the
display will show error code E07. If the over-temperature condition persists, the display will show error code E04. The Status LED
turns solid RED and the inverter/charger will shut down to prevent damage to the inverter/charger and protect the battery from being over-discharged.
E08 is a Fan Lock Error. If there is no issue with the fan, disconnect the unit from its DC and AC power sources then reconnect. Restart the unit. If error persists, unit would need to be swapped out and sent back to Xantrax if still under warranty.
What is the operating temperature of the inverter/charger and when is it derated?
From the datasheet, the operating temperature range is -4 to 140 ºF (-20 to 60 ºC), with output derated above 104 ºF (40 °C).
